Welcome to our home page.

This has been long dormant, we've been very busy with other activities.  Never get any feedback, so don't know if anyone is actually reading this stuff. I have repaired broken links and added some GPS tracks around Malaysia, Thailand,Borneo, Philippines, Taiwan and Japan.

Meridian has been sold. We have moved on to our next stage - we bought a house in Kelso (east Bathurst) and moved in early November 2016. Judy is having fun organising the garden and enjoying the company of three chooks.  We also have our very strange cat Fergie who we love.

We moved to  Bathurst to be near our son Ian and his family of Kellie, Tom and Mia.  We are really enjoying life in Bathurst and find that it is a good-sized town with all facilities needed.  And if more is needed, Sydney is only about 3 hours away. We have made some connections with the community - gym, lawn bowls, woodworking and U3A.

We used to live in St Ives in the northern suburbs of Sydney. In 2000 we sold the house, car, racing Zephyr and 'Festivity' (our 25' Top Hat yacht)   and bought 'Meridian of Sydney', a 45' Roberts Mauritius steel yacht.  Since then we have cruised the Queensland coast, Tasmania, PNG, South Pacific and SE Asia, Philippines and Japan for the past 15 years or so. We have covered about 40,000 nautical miles.

In 2009 we joined the sail Indonesia Rally, left from Darwin and proceeded through Indonesia to Malaysia.  We spent some time in Thailand before heading off to Borneo in 2010.  We returned to Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand in 2011.

We left Borneo Malaysia in October 2012 and headed for the Philippines.  Christmas was spent in Sydney before returning to Meridian in Puerto Galera.  From there we headed to Cebu for refurbishing Meridian. After leaving the Philippines in 2014 we headed north to Taiwan and Japan. We really enjoyed Taiwan, the people were very friendly.

Japan was a different experience altogether.  I had been there many times and speak a bit of Japanese so I enjoyed the experience.  However, five typhoons including a Cat 5 weren't so enjoyable.

Photos of Tasmania, Louisiades, New Caledonia, Vanuatu and Solomon trips now at Flickr's photo site or here. More photos, including France are at Google Photos, please have a look!

This site is hosted by Cute Hosting.  It is a good service and much cheaper than BigPond.
